I pulled the trigger on these Church’s Diplomat semi-brogue cap toes for my go-to black dress shoe. It was a tough choice between these and a more minimal, plain toe balmoral. In the end these won out, because I like to be able to wear my ‘dress’ items casually as well, if possible. I have no doubt these will look as killer with a pair of clean denim as they will with a sharp suit.

“The Mummy Returns” (2001)

"

“Why’d we never get a house here?” Jonathan queried, biting into an apple as he walked into the room that served as a study. Two armchairs accommodated a sofa, all clad in matching leather and surrounding a broad coffee table on which Rick had sprawled two maps – one of Egypt and another focusing on the Nile from the Delta to Cairo.

“What do you mean ‘we’?” Rick asked, brow furrowed as one of his fingers traced along the Nile.

“Well, way I see it, we’re here every couple years at least – Me, not always willingly, and you all – well, Evy lives for this stuff, doesn’t she?” Jonathan took another great bite of apple and spoke with his mouth full. “Seems to me we’d get a lot of use out of a house. And then we wouldn’t need to keep traipsing off to bazaars to get new clothes –”

“Wait – Wait.” Rick looked up from the map at Jonathan’s attire. Starched white shirt, buckskin trousers, polished knee-high boots – that wasn’t bazaar fare. “Where did you get those?”

“I have my ways, Rick old boy.” Jonathan assured, brandishing the apple with a flourish before taking another healthy bite, exposing the seedy core.

“Jonathan!” Rick heard his wife call from the depths of the house. “What have you done to Dr. Jones’ room?!”
